1 Online Safety Rules
When starting new conversations on True Match, protect your identity by following these best practices:
- Keep Financial Details Private: Never share your bank account number, UPI ID, debit/credit card numbers, OTPs, or passwords with anyone.
- Protect Personal Identifiers: Do not share your home address, workplace location, or specific daily commute routines with someone you just met.
- Stay on the Platform: Keep communications within the True Match app while getting acquainted. Our built-in chat includes moderation protections that third-party SMS or messaging apps do not provide.
2 Never Send Money or Crypto
If someone claims to be facing a sudden family crisis, medical emergency, customs delay, or business hardship and asks for money, stop communicating immediately, report their profile, and block them.
3 Protecting Your Phone Number
True Match is uniquely engineered with privacy controls so that your phone number is not exposed on your profile card or to general visitors.
- When a match sends you a "Contact Request", evaluate whether you have had enough meaningful conversations before approving.
- Declining a contact request does not stop your conversation inside the in-app chat.
- A genuine person who respects you will always respect your timeline.
4 Spotting Red Flags & Catfishing
Be vigilant if a profile or conversation displays any of the following warning signs:
- They profess deep love, soulmate status, or marriage plans within a few days of chatting (love bombing).
- They refuse to do a short video call, voice chat, or complete selfie verification.
- Their photos appear excessively touched up, stolen from celebrity pages, or they give evasive answers about their background.
- They pressure you to send private, explicit photos or videos.
5 Meeting in Person (First Date Safety)
Taking your connection into the real world is exciting! Make sure it is enjoyable and secure by adhering to these safety guidelines:
- Meet in a Public Place: Choose a bustling cafe, well-reviewed restaurant, public park, or mall during daytime or early evening hours. Avoid private residences or secluded spots for first meetings.
- Tell Someone You Trust: Inform a friend or family member about where you are going, who you are meeting, and what time you expect to return. Share your live GPS location on your phone.
- Control Your Transportation: Arrange your own ride to and from the venue. Do not let your date pick you up from your residence on your first few meetings.
- Watch Your Drinks & Belongings: Keep your beverage and food in sight at all times. If you leave the table, order a fresh drink when you return.
- Trust Your Instincts: If something feels off, awkward, or uncomfortable, you have every right to end the date early and leave immediately.
6 In-App Safety Controls
Take advantage of True Match's built-in protective features:
- Verified Badge: Look for the green checkmark () indicating the user completed real-time selfie verification.
- One-Tap Block: Block any user instantly. Once blocked, they will never be able to view your profile or message you again.
- Report Feature: Report suspicious behavior, spam, impersonation, or offensive messages directly from the chat or profile screen. Our safety team reviews reports around the clock.
7 Helpline & Emergency Support
If you feel in immediate danger, always contact your local law enforcement immediately (call 112 in India). For app-related safety issues, reach out to True Match:
